Iowa STATEment Makers
Eight alumni from LAS have been chosen as 2019 Statement Makers by the Iowa State University Alumni Association.
Iowa 'STATEment Makers' recognizes the early personal and professional accomplishments and contributions to society of Iowa State University's young alumni. Recipients have made differences in their own lives, the lives of others, their communities and/or their professions through ambitious efforts that reflect the scholarly, entrepreneurial or service-oriented spirit of an Iowa State University education.

Wallace E. Barron All-University Senior Award
Two students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences were awarded the Wallace E. Barron All-University Senior Award by the Iowa State University Alumni Association.

Faculty-Staff Inspiration Award
The Iowa State University Alumni Association (ISUAA) established this award in 2011 as a way for former ISU students to recognize current or former ISU faculty or staff members who had a significant influence in their lives as students at ISU. Two LAS alumni were selected for the honors.

Distinguished Alumni Award
Established in 1961, the Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor given to alumni by Iowa State University through the ISU Alumni Association. The award honors ISU alumni who are nationally and/or internationally recognized for preeminent contributions to their professions or life’s work.
This year, two ISU alumni from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences received a 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award at the 2019 Distinguished Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 26, 2019.

• Jonathan D. Rich, ’77 chemistry, ’10 Honorary Doctorate
Help us nominate a talented and diverse group of LAS alumni for the 2020 Iowa State University Distinguished Alumni Award. Established in 1961, this award is the highest alumni honor given by Iowa State University. The award honors alumni who are nationally or internationally recognized for preeminent contributions to their professions or life's work. Up to three awards are given annually.
Nomination instructions and profiles of previous award recipients
The nomination deadline is Aug. 1, 2019. Award recipients will be recognized during the university’s 2019 Distinguished Awards Celebration in April 2020.
